Organization Dashboard

DeviceLink provides a visual history of the job runs for all sites in an organization via the organization dashboard. This dashboard is the navigational hub for all of DeviceLink - you can use it to quickly access projects, job run history, agents, devices, or jobs for any site. It also allows users to see all DeviceLink jobs across their entire organization for a selected period of time, making it easy to quickly discover and troubleshoot anomalies by making changes in job status frequency visible and discoverable.

Some examples of how you can use this dashboard to improve your visibility in job results are given below:

  • Users can use the Failed jobs filters to identify patterns in failed or timed-out job runs.

  • Users can navigate quickly from the dashboard to the details view of failed jobs in order to better diagnose and address errors.

  • By focusing on jobs with the Modified status, users can observe whether engineers at their sites are following source control best practices.

Components of the Organization Dashboard

A - Site filter bar: Use this filter bar to filter the list of sites by name or substring.

B - Date range filter: Use this filter to specify the date range used for the "Job Run History" column. The selected date range applies to both the compact and expanded views (see E - Expanded/Compact view toggle)

C - Date aggregation toggle: Use this option to specify the date grouping used in the job run history graph. Each option refers to the time period represented by one bar in the graph. Does not affect the compact view.

D - Job run status filter: Use this option to filter the Job Run History column by specific job run statuses. This filter option applies to both the compact and expanded views.

E - Expanded/Compact view toggle: Use this option to toggle between the compact and expanded job run history views. The expanded view provides a time series stacked bar graph for the date range selected in (B), segmented by the period selected in (C) and split by job run status, and is ideal for spotting trends in job status over time. The compact view provides a total count of job runs by job status for the entire period selected in (B), and is ideal for comparing large numbers of sites in a single view.

F - Sitewide job schedule indicator: This icon is shown if there is an active sitewide job schedule active for the indicated site.

G - Site name: This column provides the name and description of the site. The site name links to the Site Dashboard.

H - Projects: This column shows the number of projects associated to a site. The number links to the Projects page for the site.

J - Devices: This column shows the number of devices associated to a site. The number links to the Devices page for the site.

K - Agents: This column shows the number of agents associated to a site. The count includes both site-specific agents and any multi-site agents in the organization. The number links to the Agents page for the site.

L - Jobs: This column shows the number of jobs associated to a site. The sitewide job schedule is not included in this count. The number links to the Jobs page for the site.

M - Job history graph: This column shows a summary of job runs in the time range selected in (B). The screenshot above shows the "expanded" view of the graph. In the expanded view, hovering on a column segment will reveal all other column segments with a matching job status. Clicking on a segment will show the job run history page with a filter applied for the selected job status and a date range equivalent to the date range represented by the selected column (e.g. if columns are aggregated by day as selected in (C), then the job run history will be filtered to display jobs only for that day).

N - Job run history link: This button shows the job run history page for the selected site with no filters applied.
